Blood donation in memory of Subcommander Panikou Erotokritou

The pharmaceutical company Remedica in collaboration with the Limassol Police District, the Erotokritou family and the Limassol Refugee Renaissance Athletic Association, successfully organized the 11th annual blood donation in memory of Subcommander Panikos Erotokritou.

The blood donation took place at the multi-function room of Saint Georgios Havouzas church, and it was held under the auspices of the Chief of Police Mr. Stelios Papatheodoros, who was also present.

The response of the members from the police force to the blood donation call, as well as that of the ordinary citizens, was enormous and moving. Mr. Andros Giasemi, Remedica Human Resources Manager was also present at the blood donation.

As Mr. Giasemi pointed out, all of the people present have clearly demonstrated that volunteering starts from our heart, and it spreads to the environment without barriers and restrictions.

On March 29, 2011, the 27-year-old Panikos lost his life while returning home from the Andreas Papandreou air-force base in Paphos, where he was serving. Since then, every year, a blood donation is organized in his memory. The Limassol police department, organizations and unions were present at the 7th elementary school in Limassol.

The 27-year-old was the son of Assistant Limassol Police Director Kleitos Erotokritos.
A total of 369 blood donors were present, making the event the largest and most efficient blood donation in our country to-date.
