Gesture of Love: 1000 Gifts 1000 Children’s Smiles

Just before Christmas, 1000 children all over Cyprus received a gesture of love by Remedica. Remedica’s premises were transformed into a Christmas workshop where 40 elves showed their Christmas spirit by enthusiastically wrapping 1000 gifts under the supervision of Santa Claus.

One of Remedica’s trucks was turned into a Christmas vehicle where together with Santa Claus it visited 5 provinces of Cyprus to distribute the gifts: Limassol, Paphos, Nicosia, the free provinces of Famagusta and Larnaca. The gifts were distributed within 2 days to 1000 students of forty-one Primary Schools in Cyprus, which due to the financial difficulties of their parents would not have received a gift this year.

Because of the restrictions caused by COVID-19 and for the safety of the students, the gifts were distributed at focal points in each province. In Nicosia the delivery was made at the cultural centre of the Municipality of Strovolos, in Paphos at the Elderly Shelter, in Limassol the delivery took place at the premises of the Limassol newspaper, in Larnaca at the Larnaca school District while in Ayia Napa and Paralimni directly in primary schools.

Remedica is a pharmaceutical company that always stands by society, the state, vulnerable groups and those in need. It has a long history in the social contribution but especially in 2020 due to the situation caused by the coronavirus it included in its strategic plan with a 100% increase its financial contribution to the society.
